Tending bar is more than just a job. In order for the bar to be efficient and successful, one must secure all the basic wines, liquors and spirits and with the right equipment, your bar will surely succeed.
Bartenders are typically thought of as the go to person in the room. Some lawsuits have been filed and courts have found bar tenders guilty for continuing to serve alcohol to those that were obviously very drunk, so you have to always be aware. The drink is usually named according to its ingredients, how it is presented and how it looks.
A White Russian, for example, must be stirred completely because of the heavy cream and thick Kahlua. Negus is a drink with a punch like combination of wine, sweetened, but heated with spices. Some drinks are heated to add a special touch.
Even if you aren't in the pay for performance workforce, a bartending job may be exactly what you need. While you get your dream job, do not get stagnant, always try to forge new contacts, upgrade your skills and look out to make further advancement in your bartending career.
